[The fun] . . . is the author’s ramped-up style, which served him so well in his earlier and equally satisfying effort, Supposed to Die (2015). . . . this is a fine, wild ride. –Booklist Review, 11/15/2016
"The ghosts of Hammett and Chandler haunt this impressive novel."

Welcome

A native of rural Florida, Hugh Dutton grew up in a succession of small southern towns until the lure of the big city drew him to Atlanta at the age of twenty. There he spent the next two decades in sales and business management before hanging up his wingtips to pursue the much more challenging career of parenthood. He lives in Hawaii, where he now devotes his time to his family and, of course, his books.

If you pinned him down, he would probably admit to being a nature-loving sun boy, a sometime musician of dubious talent and a doting dad. He enjoys a good crossword puzzle, getting adventurous in the kitchen, helping with sixth grade homework and cold Mexican ale, though not necessarily in that order. (And he likes pina coladas, getting caught--oops, wait, that's someone else's line!) Anyway, he suffers from a lifelong addiction to reading, so his writing is more of a passion than a vocation. Browse around, make yourself at home. Thanks for dropping in!
